Chamber Committees
Ambassadors are an essential part of the Chamber's outreach to its members, helping answer questions and welcoming attendees at Chamber events. Ambassadors assist in membership retention, promoting new membership and representing the Chamber at events, activities and functions. Membership and retention of members are constant challenges of providing value, and the Ambassadors are instrumental in helping the Chamber clarify the value added to membership. Ambassadors communicate to members and the community how the Chamber can and does advocate business interests.
The Board holds the government and policy making responsibilities of the Chamber. It controls the Chamber's property, is responsible for its finances, establishes and supervises its Program of Work; employs its Executive Director, and directs its affairs. All policies of the Board are formalized in a policy manual and recorded for easy reference by Officers, Directors, and administrative staff, and available to the membership.
The Education Committee works towards providing educational business opportunities for our members, and promoting education within the local community. The Backpacks for Kids program, started by the Education Committee, is the coordinating body for this important assistance to our local school district each spring. They bring us our Monthly Business Luncheon's Student of the Month and obtain sponsors for the student and their advisor. The committee schedules education seminars for the Chamber's membership on a quarterly basis.
The Events Committee focuses on how the Chamber can improve on events? This group seeks to improve your experience at the regular events and comes up with new events that are fun and have value for the general membership. They respond to the annual event survey and are at the various events seeking members' input on the specific event.
The Financial Committee helps the Board treasurer prepare the annual budget and oversee the accounting of the Chamber on a monthly basis. Committee members coordinate with the Board of Directors in preparing the Chamber's annual work plan.
The Government Affairs Committee keeps the Chamber Board and membership up to date on the business issues facing the city, county and the state government by attending city council meetings and other city meetings, as necessary. This committee is involved in the drafting of the East King County Chambers of Commerce Legislative Coalition annual issues and participates in the Coalition's meetings.
The Operations Committee is comprised of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors and oversees the day to day operation policies of the Chamber. It works with the Executive Director to make sure the Chamber is running smoothly and effectively.
- Woodinville Women’s Connection
The majority of Woodinville Businesses are owned by women and this council is designed to meet their needs. They network and mentor with each other and provide educational opportunities for women in business.
The purpose of the Woodinville Women's Connection is to provide a supportive environment in which we can enhance each other's businesses by learning about each member, giving qualified referrals and discussing issues of concern to us all. Our intention is to develop connections with other professional women that will foster loyalty and friendship as a natural extension of our business relationships. We are committed to demonstrating our support for each other in achieving our individual goals--both professional and personal.
The Executive Director of the Chamber is an Ex-Officio Member of all Committees/Teams.
